Every party, one search
Add the client, the other side and anyone else involved, then search them together. No more checking one name at a time.
Legl Conflicts
600+ law firms trust Legl
Add the client, the other side and anyone else involved, then search them together. No more checking one name at a time.
Checks run against the firm's practice management system as well as Legl, so existing clients, former clients and counterparties are all in scope.
Each check is saved with its parties, matches and outcome, and every earlier check is there the next time a similar name comes up.
If the firm has checked a similar name before, you see it at the top of the results: how many times, and how many ended in a conflict, with a link to read the earlier check.
Results show what matched, a full name or a matter naming the subject, alongside the matters behind it, whether the firm acts for or against that party, and whether the matter is still open. Fields that were not compared say so.
Record a conflict, no conflict or nothing relevant for each party. Anything needing a second opinion goes to a named colleague, with the escalation and its outcome on the record.
It's not about monitoring every transaction daily. It's about having the visibility to catch problems before they become serious, and the audit trail to demonstrate that the firm's processes are robust when regulators ask. It's about 'exception reporting' and not 'everything reporting'

We can act much more appropriately to risk. We can quickly see when additional enhanced due diligence or source of wealth checks might be needed, but we can also avoid overdoing things when the additional information we have shows that residual risk is actually lower.

We really like the platform, it's very easy to use and Legl's team is so responsive. Legl so clearly understands the risk assessment process, what law firms need to go through and how to make our lives more efficient.

A check, before acting, that the firm can act in the client's best interests. Conflicts can arise between the firm and a client, between two clients, or commercially. It is a judgement call for the firm, and the reasoning should be recorded.
Yes. Add each party to one check, including the client, the other side and anyone else involved, and search them together. Results are grouped by party and marked likely or possible.
Existing and former clients, counterparties and associated parties, checked against the firm's matters in its practice management system as well as its Legl records.
Each result shows what matched, the matters behind it, whether the firm acts for or against that party, and whether the matter is open. Fields that could not be compared are marked as not compared, so the shortlist is clear about what it did and did not check.
No. You record one of three outcomes for each party: conflict, no conflict, or nothing relevant. Anything that needs a second opinion is escalated to a named colleague, and the decision stays with your firm.
